Guy Westgate

Team Leader and S-1 Swift glider pilot. 8 times National Glider Aerobatic Champion at Unlimited level and on the British team for 3 World Aerobatic Championships. Guy has been flying aerobatics since 1993 and displaying gliders since 1998, he has 2 World Records tandem paragliding with his brother, is an advanced aerobatic instructor and CAA Display Evaluator. Guy is an airline pilot and flys Boeing 747-400s for British Airways from Heathrow.


Mike Newman

Former racing driver who turned his focus skywards to become the 2006 Intermediate and Unlimited UK National Glider Aerobatic Champion in 2008 and 2009. A gliding instructor and aerobatic coach, Mike competes at Unlimited level and flies the S-1 Swift and the MDM-1 Fox with the team


Peter Wells

Pete started gliding aged 15 and now has 2800hrs. He comes from a famous aviation family, and runs Zulu glasstek, a successful glider business repairing sailplanes and agency for both Alexander Schleichers and Silence aircraft who make the Twister. Pete started learning aerobatics in his RF4 then went on to the 200HP RV8. He now flys the Silence Twister with the team.


Paul Moslin

Paul is the RAFGSA Chief Engineer and a professional gliding instructor at RAF Halton near Aylesbury, flying year round. Paul flies the powerful PA-25 Pawnee in our displays and in his spare time flies a Pitts Special. Paul is also a freelance CAA licensed engineer.

Ian Gallacher

Gally’ retired as Chief Flying Instructor of the RAFGSA Chilterns Gliding Centre in 2009 where he was an engineer in the Royal Air Force. Ian has previously flown the solo displays for the RAFGSA's Team Condor and also won the 2008 Dan Smith Aerobatics Trophy.

Ian flys both the PA25 Pawnee tug and occasionally the S1 Swift for the team.


Jon Gowdy

PA25 Pilot pilot and rising star of the aerobatic world, Jon is sponsored by the British Aerobatic Association. He also displays fast jets such as the De Havilland Vampire as well as the Air Atlantique Classic Flight collection. Jon now flys Airbus A320 from Heathrow for British Midland. 


Brendan O'Brien

S-1 Swift pilot. Flying displays in anything with wings for 35 years and a specialist in stunt and display flying. 202 Aviation World Records and current glider instructor, power aerobatics instructor/examiner, renowned airshow commentator and TV presenter. Brendan also won the 2008 Championships at Intermediate level glider aerobatics.


Paul Barker

S-1 Swift glider pilot and a towplane pilot, Paul won the UK championship for Intermediate-level glider aerobatics in 2007 and the Advanced level competition in 2008 and 2009. He has been a pilot for 18 years and flies the Boeing 767 for British Airways from Heathrow.
